Background: There is ample evidence suggesting that colorectal cancer (CRC) has unique origins, genetic changes, and immune profiles, indicating that it is a diverse disease. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) perform various roles in controlling gene transcription, post-transcriptional mechanisms, translation, and epigenetic changes. Dysregulated expression of lncRNAs is closely associated with a variety of medical conditions. Method A comprehensive bioinformatics analysis was conducted to make informed predictions about potential biomarkers. The selection of RNAs for this investigation was based on microarray and RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) data analysis to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in cancerous tissues compared to adjacent non-cancerous samples. Our findings revealed a total of 15,325 DEGs, comprising 11,183 that were significantly upregulated and 4,142 that were significantly downregulated. Additionally, we examined the RNA-seq data from the COAD dataset within The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database to recognize differentially expressed long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs). Enrichment analyses (pathway, GO) and direct/indirect interactions were evaluated. Various statistical methods were used to assess differences in expression in CRC samples, RNA correlations, and the potential for consideration as prognostic or diagnostic biomarkers (ROC and clinicopathological analysis). ResultThe bioinformatics analysis revealed that LINC01132 (logFC: 2.3619, adj. P. Value< 0.05) and LINC02542 (logFC: 2.4568, adj. P. Value< 0.05) are significantly upregulated in CRC and have the potential to be …
